World Veteran Athletic Championships in Track and Field (WAVA) are being held in Durbin, S.Africa, July 17-27, 1997. They're biennial and were last held in the US in 1995. Events will include track and field, cross-country, walk and marathon events open to women 35 and over and men 40 and over.

ULTRA ENDURANCE

Australian Ultra Runners' Association Down Under headquarters for ultra running, calendar, Australian ultra records and results.

Eagle 100 Mile Cross Country Run Main street of historic gold town Hedley, British Columbia, Canada Course: Hilly trails and back roads, out and back from 1,600 - 8,100 feet.

Hardrock 100 Mile Endurance Run Silverton, Colorado - a big loop through the San Juan Mountains 11,186' average elevation, low point 7,680' at Ouray, high point 14,048' at Handies Peak.

Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race The first stage is 24 miles with over 10,000 feet of altitude gain. The second stage is 20 miles with spectacular views of Mt Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu (four of the five highest peaks in the world). The third stage is 26 miles, fourth stage is 13 miles and fifth stage is 17 miles.
